As part of our commitment to delivering a high value service, we want to notify you of important new features. We recommend that you take the time to read about our newest features and updates to CaseLines below.
What’s new in CaseLines December 2019 Release CaseLines December 2019 release delivers a fresh user experience to our review page with updated menus and icons. These have been refreshed and re-organised to make them easier to navigate.
Dual Panes The streamlined interface lets you review evidence side by side without setting up multiple windows - perfect for working in court as well as on the move on touchscreen devices. You will be able to select two documents you want to compare by selecting the new dual panes button. Once selected, a second document review pane will appear. You can resize the panes using the toggle bar in the center of the screen. Using this function you can now open search in one pane and review evidence in another.
Case Notes Based on user feedback ‘comments’ have been transformed into ‘notes’. The ‘notes’ bar on the right-hand side of the workspace will still hold ‘page notes’ from individual documents. However, you are now able to add ‘case wide notes’. This lets you add a note without needing to link it to a document. In addition, filters have been enhanced enabling you to sort by colour, tag, document, type and author as well as being able to search note content within search. You can also now reorder notes by position in the bundle, date order and alphabetically.
Redaction Redaction Categories You are now able to set up redaction categories which are applied against chosen redactions. Redaction categories can be created at organisational and case level. Once a redaction category is set and the redactions completed, they can be applied to sub-bundles as required.
Search and redact CaseLines powerful search function has been further optimised to support ‘Search and Redact’ enabling you to redact all instances of a word or phrase found within a document or the entire bundle. This allows you to speed up the process of redaction and consequently increase the speed of disclosure. Using the ‘search and redact’ feature gives you control to only apply redactions where necessary, you can see which instances of words have been redacted, and in which documents, according to their highlighted colour. When a redaction is no longer necessary, or needs further review, they can be removed and reapplied without having to completely remove a document and re-upload a new copy.
Don’t forget, you can access quick reference guides, FAQ’s and online training videos via our support portal. Click on the Support button from within CaseLines to access the portal and then click ‘Solutions’ to access CaseLines support resources.
